Penitentiary Nr. 3 Leova
Penitentiary No. 3 in Leova won a grant of $7,414 to transform its vocational training program for inmates, with all salaries contributed as in-kind support. This funding provided 56 pieces of workshop equipment for hands-on vocational courses in trades like tiling, carpentry, and welding.
The upgraded workshop now features modern equipment and educational materials, empowering inmates with practical skills for successful reintegration into society. Inmates participating in the construction courses actively build knowledge and experience, preparing for life beyond incarceration.
In 2024, 20 inmates will graduate with diplomas, with another 20 set to follow in 2025. The workshop aims to remain a cornerstone of skill-building at the penitentiary for years, maximizing the lifespan of the equipment to support ongoing education and rehabilitation.
